- 2007–2008: Research fellowship at the University of Missouri, Columbia (USA)
- 2009: Habilitation (Privatdozent)
- 2011: Specialist in Visceral Surgery, consultant surgeon (Oberarzt) at the University Department of Surgery, Vienna
- 2012: Associate Professor at the Medical University of Vienna
- 2013: Specialist in Vascular Surgery
- 2015: Head of the surgical day clinic at the AKH Vienna
- since 2017: exclusively private practices and Viennese private hospitals
Areas of focus
I specialise in minimally invasive abdominal surgery. My main field is hernia surgery – inguinal, umbilical and incisional hernia –, along with reflux surgery, gallbladder surgery, colorectal surgery and proctology. I perform colonoscopies and gastroscopies myself.
I am a certified robotic surgeon (Da Vinci). I use the surgical robot selectively where it offers an advantage – in most cases, proven keyhole surgery is equivalent.
How I work
My aim is individual, safe and gentle treatment. This includes a detailed first consultation, an honest recommendation – even if it is not to operate – and personal care from the first examination to the check-up after the operation.
