Treatment in English
I trained and worked for 20 years at the Department of Surgery of the Medical University of Vienna and spent a research fellowship at the University of Missouri (USA). Consultations, explanations of your findings and the planning of your treatment take place in English. My appointment team also speaks English.
Since 2017 I have been treating private patients exclusively – in my practice in the city centre (Rosengasse, 1010 Vienna) and in the medical centre of the Wiener Privatklinik (Lazarettgasse 25, 1090 Vienna). Operations are performed in Vienna's private hospitals: Wiener Privatklinik, Privatklinik Confraternität – Goldenes Kreuz, Evangelisches Krankenhaus and Rudolfinerhaus.
Cigna and other international health insurance
- Cigna: direct billing with Cigna is possible. Please bring your Cigna membership card and policy details to your first consultation. Depending on your plan, Cigna may require a pre-authorisation (guarantee of payment) before surgery – we will help you with the paperwork.
- Other international or private insurance: you pay the fee yourself and receive a detailed invoice, which you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. Please check your cover with your insurer in advance.
- Staff of international organisations in Vienna: many staff members of the organisations at the Vienna International Centre are insured through plans administered by Cigna. Please check with your plan which billing route applies to you.
- Austrian public health insurance: I am a private doctor (Wahlarzt). Surgery in a private hospital is possible as a self-paying patient; we will be happy to tell you the expected costs in advance.

- Further tests: if necessary, I organise further examinations within my network of specialists.
- Surgery in a Viennese private hospital – depending on the procedure as day surgery or with a short stay. Surgery dates are usually available within days or a few weeks.
