For patients

Patient information

From the first examination to the check-up after the operation: here you will find the most important information about the process.

The process

  1. Booking an appointment at my practice. You are welcome to send me findings in advance and to enquire about possible surgery dates.
  2. First consultation: discussion, examination and joint decision on treatment.
  3. Further examinations: if necessary, I organise further examinations.
  4. Operation in a Viennese private hospital – depending on the procedure, as a day case or with a short stay.
  5. Check-up after the operation at the practice.

Before the operation

  • Fasting: you will receive the times for eating and drinking that apply to you from the treatment team when the operation is planned. Please follow these personal instructions.
  • Admission: the admission time varies depending on the hospital – sometimes early on the day of surgery, sometimes the day before. We will let you know in good time.
  • Medication: please discuss with me beforehand which medication you are taking – especially blood thinners.

After the operation

The check-up or removal of stitches usually takes place on the Thursday of the week after the operation at my practice and only takes a few minutes. How long you should take it easy depends on the procedure – you will find the details under the individual services.

Costs

My practice is run privately. We will inform you in advance of the fee for the first consultation and the expected treatment costs. Whether your insurance covers costs depends on your plan and the confirmation of cover. Direct billing of operations is possible with appropriate insurance cover. Even without supplementary private insurance, you can discuss the costs with me in advance: +43 680 330 11 45.

For colonoscopy, you will find the preparation and billing on the page Colonoscopy and gastroscopy.
